What a name can do to a company.  Oronova busted its way out of obscurity with the appointment of Frank Guistra et al to the board, as well as retaining Guistra’s company for management services.  For those who have not yet heard of Guistra, he is an international billionaire mining tycoon with business connections to the Clinton family.  He is the founder of Lions Gate Entertainment.  Among many others, Guistra is the co-founder of Lithium X (LIX:TSX Venture), Chairman and CEO of Columbus Gold (CGT:TSX Venture).

American Cumo Mining (MLY, $0.16 +52.4% Vol: 588,600)

MLY is focused on developing advanced mineral projects in Idaho.  Their flagship project (CuMo Project) has a Measured + Indicated resource of 1.2 Billion lbs Molybdenum, 1.9 Billion lbs Copper, 78 Million ounces Silver and 24 million lbs Tungsten.  The company yesterday announced an acquisition of another advanced project, also in Idaho.  The “Calida mine” has been extensively explored for the past 30 years, including 23 drill holes and thorough trenching and sampling. A total of 10 mineralized veins have been identified on the property to date.  Significant drill intersects include 40m @ 5.5g/t Au and 61m @ 4.6g/t Au.

Dwayne Parnham’s Broadway Gold is in the process of rehabilitating the historic Madison copper and gold mine, located in the Butte-Anaconda mining region of Montana.  Historic operation produced 144,000 ounces of gold from 1880 to 1950.  The mine was worked to 6,000 feet (750 feet vertical depth), and the company believes mineralization continues at depth.  A drill and exploration program is being designed to further this work.
